Automatic Extensions for the April 15th Tax Filing

No extensions need to be filed on April 15th to take advantage of this extension. If you owe tax on your 2019 tax return, the IRS announcement states that “taxpayers can also defer federal income tax payments due on April 15, 2020 to July 15, 2020 without penalties and interest, regardless of the amount owed. This deferment applies to all taxpayers, including individuals, trusts and estates, corporations and other non-corporate tax filers, as well as those who pay self-employment tax.”  Go to: IRS.GOV to review the full announcement titled IR-2020-58.
